Mamta Mohandas: walked out of ASAL

Mamta Mohandas who has been soaring high after having bagged the Ajith starrer Asal, has walked out of the project, so to say. The actress has left one and all stunned by her U-turn. She has been vociferously publicizing her project and her commitment towards it. It was to such an extent that the actress even proclaimed of her willing to be glamorous, befitting the role entrusted in her hands.

However the other side of the story goes thus: Mamta was initially offered the lead lady's role. But later the filmmakers decided to take Sameera Reddy and so pushed Mamta to the second slot. A dejected Mamta could tolerate that sudden twist in the tale.

Market value being a crucial factor in the film world, Mamta has come up with the safe version to save her face. By glossing over the whole issue of her demotion in the project, she announced her decision to walk out of the movie.

The actress has even issued strong statements to boost her flagging career, "I want my role to make a deep impact on the audiences mind. My roles in Malayalam and Telugu have always reached audiences well. Though the movies boast of big banner and stars, I want my character to impress the audience." Better luck next time Mamta.
