"When I heard the script, I fell in love with it. There's a common notion that if a lady plays a cop, it has to be the Vijayshanthi-type of role. My role in Vedigundu Murugesan was starkly different. In fact, when I told a couple of friends back home that I was playing a cop, they immediately thought that I was going the action way. It was tough explaining to them that I was a 'stupid cop'," she says. "It's nice because it's an unusual role and there was nobody I could model myself upon!"
But there was one thing she had to learn before shooting began – to ride a bike. "When I came for the photo shoot, I was told that I had to ride a bike for the shoot that would begin in a week's time. Unfortunately for me, a cycle was the most I could handle. It was a challenge to learn riding a bike in such a short time," she recalls. She is now working on a Malayalam movie opposite Suresh Gopi, but is looking forward to good offers in Tamil as well, insisting she is comfortable with glamour roles too.
